Oregon's E.J. Singler has earned the StatSheet Pac 12 Player of the Week for the week ending February 13th. Nick Johnson has earned StatSheet's Pac 12 Freshman of the Week. And last but not least, Carlos Emory from Oregon is StatSheet's Pac 12 6th Man of the Week. Singler tallied a strong showing in shooting (60%), rebounding (7 per game), and scoring (18 pts per game). The Oregon junior played well for the Ducks in wins against Washington and Washington State.
Singler contributed 13 points and 8 rebounds in 30 minutes in a big 82-57 win over Washington. That was followed by a team-leading 23 points on 66% shooting in a 78-69 victory against Washington State.
This is the second time this season that E.J. Singler has been named StatSheet Pac 12 Player of the Week. He has also been named a runner-up once and received an honorable mention. The runner-up this week is Lazeric Jones, a senior from UCLA. Honorable mention goes to Brock Motum, a junior from Washington State. Solomon Hill was the highest ranking player from Arizona, finishing fifth.
StatSheet Pac 12 Freshman of the Week: Arizona's Nick Johnson
Nick Johnson averaged 33 minutes of playing time starting both games for Arizona. His average in free throws (5.5 per game) led all Pac 12 freshmen. In a 71-57 win over Colorado, Johnson registered 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Then in a 70-61 win against Utah, he led all scoring with 18 points and also put up 3 steals.
Amazingly, Nick Johnson has won the StatSheet Pac 12 Freshman of the Week 3 times. David Kravish from California gets runner-up. Honorable mention goes to Tony Wroten from Washington.
StatSheet Pac 12 6th Man of the Week: Oregon's Carlos Emory
Carlos Emory, a 6-7 Junior forward, played an average of 23 minutes over the two games for the Ducks. In the win against Washington, Emory led the scoring for the Ducks with 16 points and also led rebounding with 8. After that, in the win against Washington State, he racked up 12 points and 8 rebounds.
This is the second StatSheet Pac 12 6th Man of the Week award for Carlos Emory. D.J. Shelton, a sophomore forward from Washington State, is runner up. Mychal Ladd, a junior guard from Washington State, receives honorable mention. This now means Arizona players have been named StatSheet Pac 12 Player of the Week 3 times this season.
